5 Tips for Perfect Smoky Shrimp Cheddar Biscuits:
1. Choose Quality Ingredients: Start with high-quality ingredients, including fresh succulent shrimp (if using frozen, thaw under refrigeration), Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay biscuit mix, and flavorful cheese of your choice. I used Cello’s smoky pepper cheese. Using top-notch ingredients ensures the best possible flavor and texture in your biscuits.
2. Don’t overmix the dough: When mixing the biscuit dough, be careful not to overwork it. Overmixing can result in tough biscuits rather than the light and fluffy texture you’re aiming for. Mix the dough just until it comes together to ensure tender biscuits.
3. Shrimp clean and deveined: When prepping the shrimp, make sure you devein, and pat dry the shrimp. Roughly chop the shrimp into smaller chunks, not into shrimp paste. We want to see and taste the shrimp while enjoying the biscuits.
4. Experiment with Seasonings: While the garlic herb blend included in the biscuit mix adds delicious flavor, don’t be afraid to get creative with additional seasonings. Consider adding a pinch of smoked paprika, dried oregano, or freshly ground black pepper to customize the flavor profile of your biscuits to your liking.
5. Serve Fresh and Warm: For the ultimate dining experience, serve your shrimp smoky pepper cheese biscuits fresh from the oven while still warm. The aroma of freshly baked biscuits will entice your guests, and the warm, gooey cheese and tender shrimp will be at their best right out of the oven. Enjoy them immediately for maximum enjoyment!
