High Protein Crab Smash Tacos

If you love crab cakes and tacos, you’re going to fall in love with these crab cake smash tacos! They’re quick, easy, high in protein, and made with real lump crab meat— perfect for a satisfying meal that comes together in under 15 minutes.

- 4 oz real lump crab meat
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp light mayo (or reg)
- 2 tbsp panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp old bay seasoning
- 1 green onion chopped
- 1/4 tsp lemon
- 3 white corn street taco tortillas
- 1.5 slices Muenster cheese
- cooking spray
Bang bang sauce
- 1 tbsp mayo
- 1 tbsp sriracha
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
In a bowl, combine crab meat, egg, light mayo, panko, Dijon mustard, Old Bay, green onion, and lemon juice. Gently mix until just combined.
Heat a nonstick or HexClad skillet over medium heat with cooking spray or 1 tsp olive oil.
Place three tortillas on a flat surface. Add the crab mixture evenly on top of each tortilla, then press gently with your hands. Cook in a hot pan with the crab side down.
Once the crab side is golden (2-3 minutes), flip and top each taco with half a slice of Muenster cheese.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted. Serve hot with bang bang sauce or your favorite hot sauce.
