Agua de Sandia is a refreshing and healthy watermelon drink popular in Mexico. It is made by blending watermelon, water, and sugar and then straining to remove any pulp. Chill the juice for best results, and you can serve it over ice. Want to be fancy? You can add a sprig of mint or a slice of lime for garnish. I love adding other fruits to mine, so I added frescas (strawberries) and ripe kiwi for this agua de Sandia. Make sure you make this for your next get-together or stay cool and hydrated on a hot day.
What benefits of Sandia/watermelon:
Watermelon is a good source of vitamins C and A and lycopene, an antioxidant linked to several health benefits, including reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, and cancer.
